NEW FEATURES - BSP2 and the Newplane Patch

The Beery SuperPatch version 2 (BSP2) features all new aircraft colour schemes, while the Newplane patch includes some new flyable aircraft types. Below are some of the new additions.

British aircraft in PC10

All British aircraft after June 1916 now appear in PC10 (or the closest approximation to it that I can get). At last, no more bright green British aircraft.

All new colour schemes.

Here's a picture of an Albatros DIII in the summer of 1917. Note the improved wing graphics. These graphics were pioneered by Todd Comeau and his contributors over at Wingstrut. All the aircraft in BSP2 now use this improved method of drawing the wing graphics.

Sopwith Triplane Modification

Image Image
The old Sopwith Triplane wings were far too wide for the size of the fuselage, making the Triplane look kinda weird. For BSP2 I've shortened the wings, making the triplane look more like a triplane. I also changed the shape of the elevator, which was wrong in all previous versions. Unfortunately, the outer struts are in the wrong position - hopefully this can be fixed in a future modification. However, I reckon the new version looks much better than the old one.

New Planes Based on Original Dynamix 3D Models

Image
In addition to the new aircraft that were included in BSP1, we have now included the Hanriot HD1 (pictured above), which is based on the Sopwith Pup. Along with the Hanriot, we've also added Belgian ace Willy Coppens and his Escadrille 1/9.

New Plane Victory Listings

Image
In BSP1, we were able to add some new aircraft types by repainting the standard bitmaps to resemble other planes not covered by the original game. Thanks to von Tom's latest version of the CM, non-standard aircraft such as the Hanriot HD1s listed above can be made to show up correctly in our pilots' victory lists.

New 3D Aircraft Models

Image
NEWPLANE includes Todd Comeau's Siemens Schuckert DIII (shown above), which is based on the original game's Sopwith Snipe, and also 3 all-new aircraft created from scratch by Blackjack (Airco DH5, Fokker DVIII, Sopwith Dolphin see screenshots below). In order to see and fly the new aircraft in the game, players must use BSP2, EM2, and the Newplane patch.
